At times like that, it’s time to use Windows password reset & recovery utility. In this tutorial we’ll show you how to easily reset forgotten Windows 10 PC password for local administrator & Microsoft account.
Part 1: Reset Windows 10 Microsoft Account Password Online
When you’re locked out of Windows 10 PC, use your phone to open the Microsoft online password reset page: https://account.live.com/password/reset.

Select the ” I forgot my password” option and click Next.
On the next page, enter your Microsoft account ID you want to recover, and click Next.
Enter either the alternative email address or a phone number that is tied to your Microsoft account. Click Send code.
Enter the security code you’ve received and then click Next. Once your identity was verified, you’ll be prompted to enter the new password for your Microsoft account.

After resetting Microsoft account password, you can then log back in to your Windows 10 computer with your new password!
Part 2: Reset Windows 10 Local / Microsoft Account Password Offline
The software I’ll be using to reset Windows 10 password is called PCUnlocker. It’s a bootable ISO file you can burn to a boot CD or USB flash drive and then use it to reset your forgotten password. At the heart of this software tool is its simplicity and reliability, which has an intuitive interface that even novice users can interact with seamlessly. Resetting Windows 10 password is just a matter of a few steps with PCUnlocker.
To get started, download PCUnlocker using other PC you can log on as administrator. Once finish downloading, unzip it and save the resulting ISO file to a folder on your local hard drive.

In order to create a bootable CD/USB, just download and install the freeware ISO2Disc. Start ISO2Disc and burn the PCUnlocker ISO file to your CD or USB flash drive.

The next step is using the CD/USB to boot off the Windows 10 PC you want to reset forgotten password for. When booting to the PCUnlocker screen, choose a local user and click on Reset Password button to remove the password.

If your selected local account is tied to a Microsoft account, you’ll be prompted to convert your Microsoft account back to local account and set a new password. Click OK and the tool does every magical thing for you.

Reboot your computer and disconnect the CD/USB, you can then log back into Windows 10. As simple as that, you are good to go.
